stop looking at me. i mean it.
you’re not allowed to read my (publicly published) weblog!
i’ve seen more than a few entries on xanga complaining about people they don’t know reading their blog. this strikes me as just ridiculous.
isn’t the point of weblogging to have people reading it? to get feedback? to maybe be part of a small community? to disseminate information, disinformation and drunken/high 3.30am post-coitus scrawlings? share your bad poetry? your filthy stories about your neighbor, philosophical musings that would nominate you for “worst yoda impersonator of the year”, bland entries of 3 or 4 sentences about your trip to the school nurse with cramps, your undying love for you signifigant other, your political stances, how you brush your teeth, wrestle the cat, and how last nite you got drunk and barfed on your friends camaro?
don’t you want people to come along and leave comments:
-damn you’re hott
-cum leave me eprops cuz i left you sum
or perhaps sharing a truly deep and raw look into themselves when you write a particularly moving post.
so.
stop complaining. it’s public. it’s a weblog. people will read it. get over it.
if you don’t want people reading what you’re saying, close your weblog. open a file on your desktop and write there. get yourself a password protected website and refuse to tell anyone the password. quit whining about strangers leaving comments. and most of all…
get out of here! i don’t know you and you’re probably stalking me since you’re reading my weblog! if you don’t get out of here i’m calling the cops! you’re a sick sick individual for reading a public weblog!!
sidenotes….
first off, huge thanks go to morgane for recording the voiceover intro to the site.
if you haven’t heard it yet, click here. isn’t her voice sexy? i thought so too.
i’ve been tweaking the code here in a slowmotion frenzy to get the scrollers to work on as many platforms as i can, so if it doesn’t work for you it probably will soon. if you’re using the aol browser, well, you’re shit out of luck. i refuse to accomodate code for that piece of crapware.
and now i’m off to shower, return a webcam and buy mac jaguar OS.
don’t look at my weblog. i mean it. especially while i’m in the shower.

Hello, Richard. *Mwah*!
I like meeting new people on Xanga, what I object to is anonymous subscribers. Xanga is about interaction, not one person reading everything I write and not reciprocating by allowing me to read their words. Which is why I’ll be ranting about anonymous subscribers and stalker exes again in the near future
yeah i don’t understand that one either. the anonymous subscribe….what’s the point of that??
I also fail to see the point of restricting your blog only to those who know you…except I now regret letting a few people at work know about mine, and I feel like I can’t whine about work. But you know, it’s hard for me to whine interestingly about work, so maybe that’s just functioning as quality control?
Anyway, blogs are public, they’re designed to be public, and for me the threat of an audience is what keeps my writing standards high. Not that I wouldn’t be nominated for Worst Yoda Impression too, just that I’m at least really trying…
fuckall, i thought i was doing such a good job of being a stealth stalker.
ha, that always cracks me up when people get mad that their blogs get read by people they don’t know.
I’m am so unbelievably slow. I just read your comment about firetheft. I’ll have to check them out.
Really? People bitch about people they don’t know reading their blogs? Who are these losers? Doesn’t Xanga have some sort of screening process to let in us perverts but keep the prudes out? Because they should get one. It would be a free for all orgy.
Amen!
hmmmm well shit that is all I got .. I need some coffee before I can mumble another word !
good one, i kinda like the way live journal works a little better, i don’t really like the idea of anonymous subs either, although i have one, i don’t know who it is…. but anyway, i think the best part about live journal is if you leave a comment, you get an email notification, so you can write back, and they will get an email notification… see i never check back on where i leave comments, so i’d never know if anyone answered my questions or what not… i have an LJ account but i seldom write in it, because i think the xanga communitity is much more chill…. LJ seems to be full of __________ types of ppl, you can fill that in yourself.
I’m subbed to several people anonymously….. and it all has to do with my psychotic stalking!!! And yeah, it’s probably YOU.
I like the thing on LJ where it lets you password your site or do the “friends only” thing, which spares the need for psychotic hiding of one’s shadow sites. But when one keeps shadow sites, one knows that one does so at one’s own peril. One should also not abuse the english language in this manner or leave long self-serving ranting comments, so one will shut up now.
even if they do like writing on xanga, that’s why there’s a private button, umm yeah. but it’s just people being asses like they’re so good at doing.
Stop looking at me swan!
Sorry, I couldn’t resist…stupid people piss me off, such as the idiots you described…
i didn’t realize you had changed the site! good thing you mentioned it, i always read it from behind…mwahaha. i love getting subs, anonymous, people i don’t know, anyone really. this is a public forum, so i write things i don’t mind th epublic reading!!
btw, the voiceover is cool, but very staticy from my end…
rich..how i love thee..let me count the ways…1.i dig your scarcasism…2.you make me think about myself…3.you laugh funny…4.your choice words…5.that we work together, although we never see each other…6.the way we used to get down and dirty..hahah(i am soo old now)…7.your never endin’ search and thirst for knowledge…8.the way you don’t let me “just be” and wallow in my own shit…9.you make me think ALOT!( i know that is like number 2 but i mean it!!)…10.the way you made my xanga site and for pushing me to write on it!!…ok…i am only writing 10 things…love you….b
*Poke*
I dunno about you, but it makes me feel all squishy when someone stalks me. Especially Rache. Oh, and Texie. Unf.
Hott you are, damn. *snort*
Um, I’m gonna keep writing cause you’re not online for me to harrass. *Harrass harrass harrass poke hump harrass harrass harrass* Yeah. I saw that. Thanks. Asshelmet Crotchsniffer.
cum leave me eprops cuz i left you sum
I actually like it when strangers leave me comments — i mean to tell the truth it kind of gives me perspective on things. to take a step back. But then again, just writing it has elements of that —
i’m stalking you too
heard you were hot piece of ass
rache/PK don’t lie.
Haha…has he sent you the picture of him in the shower yet?
hee. I really like you. and I’m reading your weblog. neener, neener, neener. (that works better if you imagine the accompanying dance…)
i happen to be a tom robbins freek, and sadly, it wasn’t nearly as riveting as the dance of the seven veils, and I shed no clothes for it. but it did come with a yummy side of matzza balls…
Too damned funny!
jeepers you are popular. xanga fame
hello!
Ergh. I’ve never understood complaining about that either. If you don’t want your stuff read, there’s a little click box that marks things private.
And yes… I am stalking you.
I know what you mean. I’ve seen certain people complaining about having their name listed on visible SIR lists, and how they are afraid to comment on anyone’s site for fear someone will see their name and go read their blogs…I just want to say, GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!!!! If you don’t want people reading what you’ve written, they DON’T POST!! Or don’t make your posts public!!
I agree about the ridiculousness over new people reading others’ sites. it IS the point, and when new people read my site, i take it as a compliment and often comment on their’s to say what’s up. -ShelBy
Anyone who thinks that content they put on-line should remain anonymous, or restricted to their own personal use should pay for a private domain.
“stop complaining. it’s public. it’s a weblog. people will read it. get over it.”
yes!
That’s Morgane’s voice? That is very cool because she is one of my favorite Xangians. I’m with you about the people who complain that people read their sites. I don’t get it. Write on a sticky note or something if it bothers you.
Love the voiceover and your ability to cooperate over long distances.
Folk who read blog entrys and complain about people they “dont know” reading theres are hypocritical, I agree.
As far as stalkers go look out for allison. Shes bad news.
hey look at me! I’m an attention whore…weeeeeee. (if you haven’t seen this picture you won’t know that I am joking… I was joking)
i agree with ‘morgane’ about the anonymous users…that’s such crap…it is about meeting new people…people like yourself or people with beautifully different views and backgrounds…broaden your horizons
people that close themselves off are just why we have problems in our closeminded world….boo to them…
hooray to you richard
love the new site, brother
If people don’t want others reading their blog livejournal offers a friends only option that should just move thier asses over there. The only problem I have is that damn anonymous option. Why would you sub like that unless you don’t want them to know who you are or someone to know you read them. It’s stupid.
I rather enjoy writing posts about how stupid society is and haveing a bunch of strangers agree with me.
i’ve seen some of those complaints, and it confused the hell out of me. not that it takes much to confuse me….
i’m sure you already know this, but…. make sure to install 9.2 before you install 10. just about everybody i know who’s updated has accidentally skipped that process.
LOL good one….I totally agree, only thing I would like to gripe about is the anonymous subs. What’s the point in that?
btw love the new look
Oooh, I like the stalkers. They’re the most loyal bunch. ’cause you’ve got a perty mouth!
