It looks like Lilian Gish before she hit stardom. It’s blotchy photography, and it looks all the more genuine. Sort of like an amateur sephia before the technology was refined. It is pleasing to my eyes, so much, in fact, that I am content with the image, and I am not in the least curious about its history. It’s a story in and of itself.
