  • The Devil in Mexico

Meandering between hardcore/punk sensibilities and country, Murder By Death make something that shouldn’t work seem effortless and seamless. Who Will Survive And What Will Be Left Of Them takes the idea of a concept album and strips away the prog rock ego-wanking usually associated with such an endeavor and replaces it with a gritty narration of the devil’s subjugation of an old west border town.

someone say a hail mary for this house,

bless the corners and burn the devil out.

  • whoa. i LOVE this, how the hell did i never hear this before? MORE MORE!

  • @Fodon - MBD is one of my favorite bands, glad you like them! They’ve kind of mellowed out since the first album, yet they’re still really fucking good.

  • @saturnalia - i don’t mind mellow–actually kinda prefer it these days; i love this sound. seriously, thanks for sharing. I’ve been out of the music loop for a while so just listening to what i already know and jazz/classical on npr (i really really do like everything). It’s nice to hear new stuff that I dig.

keep em coming, uh, if you don’t mind.
