I am thinking it's a sign,
that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images
and when we kiss they're perfectly aligned.
And I have to speculate that God himself
did make us into corresponding shapes
like puzzle pieces from the clay.
-The Postal Service, "Such Great Heights"I found yet another camera. Erin and I stopped at a thrift store yesterday and on the way out I saw a camera bag stuffed with goodies. My find? A Minolta X 370 SLR, everything in the camera bag (camera, 2 lenses, a UV lens and hot shoe flash) for $40. My collection is pretty much complete now.
After some battery related ghetto hacks and valiantly declared affirmations ("I WILL take pictures with this camera today damn it!"), I got the Polaroid 420 Land Camera to work. Erin and I hit the mangroves, which we both decided are neat to visit, but extremely boring to photograph. After walking around for a few minutes, I found the skeletal remains of some creature. We couldn't figure out what it was, most likely an opossum or cat. Erin found a perfectly intact and bleached femur or similar and took it home.
I wonder if she'll put it in her hair and let me club her over the head and drag her off to my cave.
Such profound things to contemplate.
Last night, we went to a section of downtown with the redundantly vague yet intercappingly hip name of "CityPlace". Basically a renovated section of downtown. Unbeknownst to us, it was prom night. In retaliation, we drank Starbucks and ruthlessly stereotyped people for our own personal amusement.
- "Oh, here's another Paris Hilton."
- "They're on the soccer team."
- "She'll be doing porn movies to support her coke habit."
- "She's with him for the money."
- "Those are the kids that know too many words to hang out with the real thugs, but try anyways. Their parents will only let them listen to Will Smith."
- "He's a sensitive thug. He'll smack his bitch, but listen to Usher and cry about it afterwards."
- "They're the Chess Club."
Fun times... fun times.
Oh, and have a Happy Bunny Day.
